I love writing about color correcting using Seint Makeup! I especially enjoy using shades in Seint’s IIID foundation to color correct areas such as redness, dark circles, age spots, freckles and more. In this guide we will be covering how to use Seint Frenchie Lip and Cheek as a color correctors.
What is Color Correcting

Color correcting is when you use makeup in particular hues to cancel out and neutralize unwanted tones in your skin. This could be dark age spots, hyperpigmentation, redness, or circles under the eye.
Color correction is based on color theory and the color wheel. Typically shades opposite one another on the color wheel cancel each other out. For example, peach undertones work great at canceling purple hues out.
Your color corrector acts as a barrier, blocking the unwanted hues from showing through your main foundation color.
Frenchie as a Color Corrector

Frenchie is a lip and cheek color, and it has a beautiful peachy pink undertone. This peach undertone makes it great for neutralizing dark circles, especially those with purple or bluish undertones.
Frenchie Lip and Cheek is light enough to work well with fair to light skin. You want to be sure your color corrector is darker than your highlight color in order to really block the unwanted hues from showing through your makeup.
Before and After

This is such a gorgeous before and after! This Seint Artist used Frenchie Lip and Cheek as a color corrector under the eyes. She has purple hues in her under eye circles, and the peach in Frenchie cancels it out perfectly.

Here is another perfect example of how Frenchie Lip and Cheek is amazing as an under eye corrector, especially for those with purple hues in their dark circles. Look how bright her under eyes are in the after picture! The dark circles have completely vanished, thanks to Frenchie neutralizing them.

This Artist has dark circles, but they aren’t as purple as the previous examples. However, Frenchie still works perfectly to cover the dark circles.

Here is another great example of Frenchie in action.

One final before and after really showcases how natural Seint Makeup really can be! I love how her whole look gives this lit-from-within glow. Frenchie played a great part in brightening her under-eye area.

- Be sure to color match correctly. Frenchie Lip and Cheek works best with fair to light/medium skin.
- Because Seint Makeup is so pigmented, you only need to use a little product. This is especially true under the eye, otherwise you’ll create unwanted texture.
- Use a damp perfector sponge to remove any excess product between layers.
- Dab main highlight color over the Frenchie, rather than swiping a makeup brush.
Final Thoughts
Frenchie Lip and Cheek is a beautiful shade for blush and lip stick. It also works beautifully as a color corrector. Because it has peach undertones, it works its best at covering hues of purple, which is often found in dark under-eye circles.
