When I found out the founder, Cara Brook, of Seint makeup (formally Maskcara Beauty) was the same beauty blogger whose site I followed years ago, I took notice.
I remember reading Cara’s blog, Maskara, and learning how to apply makeup which made me feel confident. My favorite tutorial of hers was how to fill in my eyebrows. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on her cream foundation, and I’m not disappointed.

What Makes Seint Makeup Different?
So what’s the deal with Seint makeup, anyway? What is it, and what makes Seint Beauty different?
Seint makeup is different because it utilizes single-layer highlight & contouring, customizable palettes, cream makeup, color science, and Seint Artists’ education in color correcting.
Let’s dive deeper into each point.
Single Layer Highlight & Contouring (or “HACing”)

Rather than using one shade for your face like with traditional foundation, with Seint makeup you choose at least three to four shades in a customizable palette. Your complexion naturally has various colors, so it makes sense to use multiple colors for your foundation to show off your natural beauty.
The following Seint Makeup video is my favorite look at what “HACing,” or highlight and contouring, is all about and how it’s applied.
Customizable Palettes

You can personalize your Seint makeup palette with everything you need for highlighting, brightening, contouring, and adding lip and cheek color specific to your skin tone. Each slot is refillable, so you only need to buy what you need when you need it. Each tin is magnetic and snaps right into your palette with ease.
You can also add tins of illuminators, bronzer, eyeshadow, brow pomade, eyeliner, and setting powder. With Seint, the makeup routine is now streamlined. All you need to throw in your makeup bag is one palette.
Cream Makeup
Seint’s high-quality cream makeup formula can be applied for either sheer coverage or full coverage. Liquid and powder makeup tends to set, creating a dull and lifeless appearance. These types of foundation also tend to set into fine lines and wrinkles, adding unwanted texture to the skin. This cream formula acts as a second skin. It also applies like a dream, leaving you with a buttery velvet finish.
Also, cream makeup won’t oxidize as many traditional liquid foundations do, so it will not darken throughout the day.
Color Science
Both Seint’s IIID foundation and demi color are based on color science. You can hide imperfections like redness, hyperpigmentation, blemishes, dark under-eye circles, and more using color-correcting shades.
Seint Beauty Artist Education
Any Seint Beauty Artist will be educated on the product and on which colors would work best for your exact complexion. This is true for Seint’s IIID foundation, but even more with Seint’s demi color line. Artists can choose to be certified in demi color, which requires training.
Seint Makeup: IIID Foundation
Seint makeup is based on the idea that our faces aren’t one-dimensional, so our makeup shouldn’t be either. Therefore, Seint’s cream foundation consists of various shades tailored to your complexion, all in one personalized palette.
Each shade is cream-based and formulated to give you a velvety smooth finish. It goes on sheer to act as a second skin, but it can also be built beautifully to a full coverage.

Benefits of IIID Cream Foundation
- Its cream foundation which provides sheer coverage but can also be built up to full coverage for a flawless look.
- Seint makeup’s formula does not oxidize like traditional foundation, so it stays the same color throughout the day.
- It doesn’t set into fine lines and wrinkles like liquid foundation will when it dries, so it’s perfect for all skin types, including mature skin.
- It doesn’t enhance the skin’s texture but acts like a second skin due to its’ buttery finish, giving you a glowing skin look.
- Because our faces are not one-dimensional, the foundation comes in personalized shades to suit your complexion.
- You only need to highlight and contour in one layer on your skin, rather than multiple layers with traditional “HACing”

Choose Your Perfect Shades
The very premise of Seint foundation is through “HACing,” or highlight and contouring. This method allows you to enhance and sculpt the structure of your face, bringing out the natural features that you love and minimizing the parts you don’t.
Build your custom, refillable palette with shades from each category: highlight, contour, lips + cheeks, and illuminator.
How to Color Match
The very first thing you should do when getting started with Seint makeup is to get color matched.
Seint Artists are trained to properly color match their clients. To be color matched by me, take this quick survey. I also put together an ultimate Seint color matching guide if you prefer to do it yourself.
Highlight Colors
The first shade you want to choose is your highlight color, which can be 1-3 colors depending on your needs. These creamy shades are for brightening and creating a glowing complexion.
You’ll want to choose one highlight color to act as a brightener. This will cover dark circles under the eyes and brighten the face where the sun naturally hits it.
Contour Color
Choose your contour shade and use it to accentuate your features by giving them dimension and definition. All contour shades are ash-based, mimicking the natural shadows on your face. You’ll be using this contour color on the sides of your nose, beneath the jawline, under your cheekbones, and at the top of your forehead.
Lips + Cheeks
Seint’s Lip + Cheek tins double as both cheek and lip color. Use these shades to bring out the natural flush in your cheeks. It makes a face look more youthful and warms your complexion.
I am in love with all of Seint’s lip + cheek shades. The best part is that they are super pigmented, so you need a tiny amount to get the color you want. My tins last a very long time!
Illuminator
Seint’s illuminator tins are beautiful, shimmery creams. They are sheer, and they give your face a lovely dewy finish that completes your foundation routine. Seint offers a powder illuminator as well.
Bronzer + Setting Powders
You can also add bronzer and setting powder to your customizable palette.
Use bronzer for a sun-kissed glow throughout your face. You can set your look with Seint’s setting powder or finishing spray if you tend to have oily skin.

Additional Seint Products
The Seint makeup line also includes other products that you can include in your personalized makeup palette. You create more than one palette to build multiple palettes, depending on your preference.
While many of Seint’s products are cream-based, some also come in powder.
Pro Tip: Always store the powder in a different section than your creams, just in case you drop your palette and any of the powder breaks loose. This way it won’t set into your creams.
Seint Eye Makeup
You can also add eyeshadow to your customizable Seint palettes. Gone are the days of buying an entire palette with shades you won’t ever use. With Seint, you only need to buy what you will actually use.
They come with more than double the average eyeshadow and are available in a full range of shades and finishes including shimmer, matte, glitter, and cream.
Seint Makeup: Demi Color
The newest lineup of this cosmetic line is the Demi color line. The demi line was created for those that want more of a natural, no-makeup look to enhance natural features.
Sometimes makeup can cover our skin’s natural glow and texture, so the demi line was created to balance tone, add depth and keep that luminous glow our skin naturally has.
The cream formula was created based on color science and the color wheel, so you can color correct what we call “distractions” like dark circles, dark spots, redness, and more. You apply the cream just to the areas you want to filter out.
You can also use demi color to add depth to your face and embrace those natural shadows we already have.
Seint Perfume
Seint also has the dreamiest solid perfumes that double as a rose gold illuminator. They also come in refillable tins that you pop right into your custom palette.
Seint Skincare PRODUCTS
Seint also has the dreamiest skincare line! It comes in a three-step process: cleanser, toner, and crème (moisturizer).
These three skincare products encourage gentle cell turnover, leaving your skin soft and clear.
How to Buy Seint Makeup
So how do you get started with Seint makeup? Once you’ve received a Seint color match, or you’ve color-matched yourself, there are a couple of ways to get the very best deal. You’ll want to create one of your first customizable palettes with all your IIID foundation shades.
You can get the best deal by buying a collection that will come with a double-sided brush. If you don’t need a brush, building your own custom palette is the next best deal.
